New Arrival ?!

Ariana Grande has been teasing her supporters for over a month with new music as they wait for the arrival of her new album. Well, they have to wait no more. Ariana Grande recently dropped her new album on February 8th called Thank U, Next. The album consists of twelve tracks including imagine, needy, NASA, bloodline, fake smile, bad idea, make up, ghostin, in my head, 7 rings, thank u, next and break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored. This release gains much attention because she had previously released an album called Sweetener just six months prior. However, this released compared to her last seemed to be bigger. On the day that Ariana dropped her album, she also dropped her video for the song break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored. She even had radio stations playing the entirety of her album as she explained the back song of them. Although I thoroughly enjoyed her album this week I also have my top five songs that have been on repeat on my playlist at the moment.

1)      Someone You Loved – Lewis Capaldi

-        This song portrays such a beautiful story of a man who was in love but was left broken-hearted. He wanted this person to be in his life that he could rely on for understanding and to just be there for him. He had that person in his life that allowed him to be himself and let his guard down but as his lyrics goes “Now the day bleeds into nightfall and you're not here to get me through it all I let my guard down and then you pulled the rug I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved”. This is a great song to listen especially if you want to get into your feelings.
2)      3 Nights- Dominic Fike
     -    3 Nights is such a fun song. When I listen to this song I imagine a summer weekend with a group friends who are just having fun with each other. Dominic Fike is a 23- year old break out star who released his EP last year and this song, in particular, has become a huge success. Although he didn’t have the best childhood he took his talent to become the artist he is today.

3)      Swan Song – Dua Lipa

-        This song was created to be a part of the soundtrack for the new movie Alita: Battle Angel that will be released on February 14th. From the various trailers, Alita is portrayed as a strong female character and that is what the song also represents, being strong and to keep fighting no matter what. When the lyrics “I won’t stay quiet, I won’t stay quiet cause staying silent is the same as dying” was sung it this song it just reminds to you continue to fight for what you believe in. I also loved the name of the song because a swan’s song is normal soft a pretty but as the lyrics go this is not a swan song.
4)      Care Less More – Olivia O’ Brien
     -         Olivia O’Brien is known for her most popular song “hate u love u” but this song has to be one of my favorites from her. This portrays that a girl can act and do what a guy does when it comes to distracting themselves from the person they really want to be with. It is basically talking about the contest that they have to see who could care less more about the other person. The production of this song also grabs your attention and makes you want to continue to listen to the song.
5)      Undecided – Chris Brown
    -         Chris Brown has been known for his R&B hits and he did not disappoint with this song either. The song talks about being undecided in a relationship. He knows that he wants to be this person but is conflicted to go to the next step. The song has a very catchy tune and makes you want to dance and of course, the vocals are great. The music video for this song also takes the song to a new level with the visuals that are presented.

A Blast from the Past

We all enjoy the new music that seems to come out every week, but do you ever take the time to revisit some of the hits from past. Over the years there have been many hits and anthems that we sometimes forget about them. They’ve ranged from hip hop and rap, to R&B to pop and much more. It’s good to take a walk down memory lane every now and then and listen to a few of the old songs that made you feel something. With that being said, here are a couple of some of my throwback hits. 1)       Find Your Love - Drake -         Aubrey Graham better known as Drake is a Canadian rapper, singer, actor, songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur. Drake gained is rise to fame through acting on a teenage drama series, Degrassi: The Next Generation. “Find Your Love” is single from his debut album Thank Me Later that was released May 5 th 2010. This track is the thirteenth song on the album, and produced by Kanye West. This song talks ...

Grammy Season

We recently celebrated the 61st Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 10th. This year it was hosted by fifteen-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys, but like many other award shows it had its highs and lows. The 61st Annual Grammy Awards was also a big night for women. There were many female nominations with several of them winning for their categories. Cardi B made history by becoming the first female to win the Best Rap Album category. There was a Dolly Parton tribute where Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris, and Little Big Town all came out and sang some of Dolly Parton’s hits. Dolly Parton herself came out to sing with them as the crowd enjoyed some of her classics. There was also a tribute to the late Aretha Franklin also known as the “Queen of Soul”. Fantasia Barrino-Taylor, Andra Day and Yolanda Adams came together to perform one of her hit songs “A Natural Woman (You Make Me Feel Like)", which was a huge success bringing the audience to their feet...

A Little Billie and More

Billie Eilish has become a seventeen year old superstar. She finally released her first studio album titled When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? March 29 th of this year. This album made it to number one on the US Billboard 200 and topped the charts in various other countries such as Canada, Australia, Scotland, and many more. Like with all of her songs, her brother Finneas produced all of her album. The two of them create hits and though I really enjoyed this album, here are a few of my other favorite song at the moment.     1)       Belong to You - Sabrina Claudio and 6lack -   ...
