A Little Billie and More

Billie Eilish has become a seventeen year old superstar. She finally released her first studio album titled When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? March 29^th of this year. This album made it to number one on the US Billboard 200 and topped the charts in various other countries such as Canada, Australia, Scotland, and many more. When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? comprises of fourteen tracks including an intro called “!!!!!!!!”, “ Bad Guy”, “Xanny”, “You Should See me in a Crown”, “All the Good Girls Go to Hell”, “ Wish You Were Gay”, “When the Party’s Over”, “8”, “My Strange Addiction”, “Bury a Friend”, “llomilo” Listen Before I Go”, “I Love You”, and “Goodbye”. Like with all of her songs, her brother Finneas produced all of her album. The two of them create hits and though I really enjoyed this album, here are a few of my other favorite song at the moment.   

1)      Belong to You - Sabrina Claudio and 6lack

-        Sabrina Claudio is a Cuban- American singer and songwriter who got her start by uploading her songs on the music service SoundCloud. This song that features 6lack is actually a remix to the original version on “Belong to You”. 6lack is an Atlanta native singer, songwriter, and rapper who is known for songs like “PRBLMS”, “Pretty Little Fears”, “One Way”. The song “Belong to You” is said to be a love song to the artist. She says that the lyrics can be for anyone, however when she was writing the song she was talking about herself.   

2)      Naked - James Arthur

-        James Arthur is English singer and songwriter. He got his start in the music by become a contestant on the music competition show The X Factor, and winning it in the ninth season. James has since created many hits including “Empty Space”, “You Deserve Better” , and Say You Won’t Let Go”. The song “Naked” is James pouring his heart out to say that I am here. He is showing all of who he is and wants that in return from his partner.  

3)      Visions - Maroon 5

-        Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band that has been around for years and changed its sound to go with the times. They have had created six studio albums and has had countless hits with recent single like “Girls Like You” hitting number one on the Billboard 100. “Visions” is the twelfth track on their sixth album Red Pill Blues. The story that is being told throughout this song is about a brokenhearted person who can’t get over their ex after a difficult break up.  

4)      Human - Rag ‘n’ Bone Man

-        Rag ‘n’ Bone Man is an English singer and songwriter, who is known for his deep, baritone voice. “Human” was his first hit single and was released in July of 2016. This song talks about the topic of being perfect. He is expressing the worry of the human condition and human’s inability to be perfect or fix real problem that we are face with in life. He uses lyrics to express what many are feeling but do not know how to say it.

5)      Best Part - Daniel Caeser featuring H.E.R

-        Daniel Caeser is Canadian singer and songwriter whose music falls into the genre of R&B, soul and neo soul. “Best Part” is the second track off of his debut album and was co-written by artist H.E.R. H.E.R is a Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter, with her name standing for Having Everything Revealed. The song “Best Part” is a love song that talks about that love and adoration that they have for their partner.
